Reactoonz by Play’n GO

Reactoonz is a cluster-based online slot from Play’n GO built around a large 7×7 grid, cascading wins and a collection of features known as the Quantum mechanics. Instead of paylines, winning combinations are created by connecting matching symbols horizontally or vertically.

A winning cluster requires 5 or more matching symbols. Once a win forms, the symbols involved are removed and new symbols fall into the empty positions. Cascades can continue until the grid no longer produces another qualifying cluster.

The main progression system is based on five Quantum Leap charge meters. Wins fill these meters during a game round, unlocking random modifiers and eventually the large Gargantoon feature when all five meters have been completed.

7×7 Cluster Pays Gameplay

Reactoonz does not use conventional paylines. All gameplay takes place on a 7-column by 7-row grid, where matching symbols need to touch horizontally or vertically to form a winning cluster.

A minimum of five matching symbols is required. Diagonal contact alone does not create a qualifying cluster.

When a cluster pays, all symbols involved in that win are removed from the grid. Empty spaces are then filled by new symbols dropping from above.

If the new arrangement creates another cluster of five or more matching symbols, another win is evaluated and the cascade continues.

Cascading Wins

Cascades are central to Reactoonz because they do more than simply provide the possibility of several wins from one game round.

Every qualifying win also contributes to the game’s Quantum Leap charge meters. A longer sequence of successful cascades can therefore move the round closer to activating one or more Quantum features.

A game round does not fully end while additional wins or queued Quantum features remain available.

Quantum Leap Charge Meters

Reactoonz has five Quantum Leap meters. Wins generated during the current game round fill these meters one after another.

When a meter becomes fully charged, one Quantum feature is selected at random and added to a queue.

The possible Quantum effects are:

  • Implosion
  • Alteration
  • Demolition
  • Incision

Queued features are activated when ordinary cascades have stopped. They can change the grid, create new Wilds and potentially start another sequence of winning clusters.

The charge meters reset only when the complete game round is over and there are no further winning combinations or queued effects to resolve.

Implosion

The Implosion feature transforms between 3 and 6 symbols into Wilds.

At the same time, symbols positioned next to those newly created Wilds are destroyed. The removed positions are then available for replacement symbols, which can create another cluster or help continue the round.

Alteration

The Alteration feature selects one random one-eyed symbol type.

All matching symbols currently present on the grid are then transformed into another symbol type. If no one-eyed symbols are available when the feature is activated, Alteration can select another symbol already present on the grid.

Changing several symbols simultaneously can connect previously separated groups into a new winning cluster.

Demolition

The Demolition feature targets one-eyed symbols.

It destroys the selected one-eyed symbols together with all matching symbols on the grid. New symbols can then fall into the spaces that have been cleared.

Because a large number of positions may change at once, Demolition can significantly alter the grid before the next win evaluation.

Incision

The Incision feature adds a Wild symbol in the centre of the grid and creates two intersecting diagonal lines.

Both diagonal lines are then filled with the same randomly selected symbol type.

Although ordinary clusters are connected horizontally and vertically, filling two large diagonals can place many identical symbols close enough to create new connected groups across the grid.

Gargantoon Feature

The Gargantoon is the largest of the Quantum mechanics. It is added to the feature queue once all five Quantum Leap meters are fully charged.

When activated, Gargantoon initially places a large 3×3 Wild block at a random position on the grid.

This large Wild can participate in cluster combinations and help produce additional cascades.

How the Gargantoon Splits

The Gargantoon does not disappear immediately when the first sequence of cascades ends.

If no more wins are available, the original 3×3 Wild separates into two 2×2 Wild blocks.

When the next sequence ends, those blocks eventually break down further into nine individual 1×1 Wild symbols.

  • Stage 1: one 3×3 Wild
  • Stage 2: two 2×2 Wilds
  • Stage 3: nine individual 1×1 Wilds

Each stage gives the grid another opportunity to form clusters before the feature is fully resolved.

Random Gargantoon Wild Drop

Gargantoon can also influence a game round without all five Quantum meters being charged.

On an initial spin that produces no win, there is a chance for Gargantoon to appear and place between 4 and 8 Wild symbols onto the grid.

These Wilds can immediately help create clusters and potentially turn an otherwise non-winning initial grid into an active cascade sequence.

Wild Symbols

Wild symbols substitute for normal symbols when the game evaluates winning clusters.

Wilds can enter the grid through several Reactoonz mechanics, including Implosion, Incision, the Gargantoon feature and the fluctuating-symbol mechanic.

Because clusters require connected groups, a strategically positioned Wild can bridge groups of matching symbols that otherwise would not form a qualifying win.

Giantoonz

A Giantoonz is created when 4 identical regular symbols form a 2×2 square.

Once formed, the four symbols become one larger Giantoonz symbol occupying the same area.

If a Giantoonz becomes part of a winning combination, the value of that win is doubled.

The supplied information states that wins are doubled when one or more Giantoonz participate in the winning cluster.

Fluctuating Symbol

Each spin marks one random one-eyed symbol type as the fluctuating symbol.

When one of these marked symbols becomes part of a winning combination, it leaves 2 Wild symbols behind.

These new Wilds remain available for the next grid evaluation and can help create further clusters during the same game round.

How a Reactoonz Game Round Develops

  1. Symbols fall onto the 7×7 grid.
  2. Clusters of 5 or more matching connected symbols are evaluated.
  3. Winning symbols are removed.
  4. New symbols fall into the empty positions.
  5. Additional clusters can trigger further cascades.
  6. Wins fill the Quantum Leap meters.
  7. Completed meters add random Quantum features to the queue.
  8. Queued features activate when ordinary cascades stop.
  9. The modified grid can create another sequence of cascades.
  10. Charging all five meters adds Gargantoon to the queue.
  11. The round ends only when no further wins or queued effects remain.

Reactoonz RTP

A confirmed RTP percentage is not provided in the supplied information.

The RTP displayed in the information panel of the version currently being played should therefore be treated as the relevant figure.

RTP represents a theoretical long-term return calculated over a very large number of game rounds and does not guarantee a particular result during an individual session.

Reactoonz Volatility

The supplied material describes Reactoonz as having a volatile mathematical nature, but it does not provide a specific official volatility category or numerical rating.

For that reason, no exact low, medium or high classification is added here.

The combination of cascades, charge meters, Wild creation and several grid-changing modifiers can cause individual rounds to develop very differently from one another.

Maximum Win

A confirmed maximum-win multiplier is not included in the supplied information.

No maximum value is therefore assumed from other Reactoonz titles or from current versions available elsewhere.
